The music to this heart-wrenching Partition-era romance is rife with allusions to the golden age of Hindi cinema. Veteran music director Pritam fills his lush, orchestral compositions with the traditional instrumentation and booming choruses of old. His painstaking attention to detail is evident in melancholy opener "Ghar More Pardesiya", a paean to a faraway homeland; and the quietly moving piano-led title track, which finds Arijit Singh's voice floating evocatively atop a mellow tabla beat. It’s also present in the lively, celebratory ghazal, "Aira Gaira".
